I'm gonna peruse this livejournal more nowadays to do some writing- not necessarily stories, just I guess the original use of this livejournal, which is probably .. well.. writing.. stuff.. accompanied by some drawings :o but for now I should focus on writing SOMETHING on every entry as an exercise and as a learning process to become more articulate/expressive when it comes to .. well.. writing. (And drawing.)
I guess I'll add to my current year's resolution to do this: I have to get better at writing. I realize after a few years of living in Canada, I'm kind of getting a bit too comfortable with the way I listen, speak and write in English- since everybody else are very accepting and being quite understanding of my Jinglish™, which is absolutely awesome and great- but seems like I'm taking the situation for granted, and it's quite apparent that I haven't been improving at all past being easy to understand and okay to converse to.
This kind of put dampers on things, especially when it comes to comic-making. I've been in a huge block for a while, I thought it was because of me feeling inadequate regarding to my current art skill, but apparently it's not necessarily the case. Well, I still think I need to improve art-wise since it's a lifelong thing, but the stagnancy mainly caused by my severe inconfidence when it comes to putting narration, thoughts and dialogues in my own comics without any help from beta-readers or proofreaders.
Aside from comics, I also tend to be ignorant on many little things in using the language, using shortcuts to say certain things which leads to basically (weirdly) incomplete sentences, or generally being non-careful, because I'm/was using my "I'm an ESL" card. That's now a big no no, I think it is time for me to grow up and actually consider on taking time in putting thoughts into my writing, or what I'm going to say or do, and generally just being more careful.
This goes for spoken English and listening as well. Actually, I'm still pretty bad at listening. Dunno exactly how to fix this one, other than listening to... ... people? ???? ????? (joe? >_> *calls* )

I wrote a huge chunk of angst then I realized I'm just an idiot who needs to lighten up and just fucking be less emotional about things like usual.
I can't help it, sometimes I just want to let everything go and shit. Forget everything and go live my own life completely with new identity without anyone knowing the new me and star over all again.
but nah, that's fucking selfish. |

ok so here's the game plan.
I will have to draw at least SEVEN finished drawings (finished sketch at the least) EVERY WEEK unless i'm travelling.
The punishment is that I WILL SHAVE my HEAD if I failed to produce at least 7 decent drawings a week.
thanks scarab for the idea, and i'll try my hardest not to shave my head >_>;;; for me and someone else's sake.
I'll post stuff in this LJ so feel free to like bug me if i dont finish anything by the end of the week OK? OK!!!!!!!!

OK gUYS I know some OF You KNOW OF ME that i'm kinda having retarded artblock, so what i'm trying to do is to find some form of PUNISHMENT.
The deal is that i have to draw 7 THING (sketches, drawings whatever) in a week, so at least 1 thing a day, or whatever but like, has to be done 7 in a week.
art block SUCKS, so help me find punishment for these. Job is easy because if i dont do shit, they fire me, and that's a punishment.

Well, I'm a total fuckin' pervert then (i saw this pic in a library once when trying to find optical illusions references- i was crouching, quickly skimming books to sort which one I wanted to borrow. a kid went by, curiously looking over, pointed at the picture and said "dolphins!" while her mom was horrified. I felt pretty bad afterwards hahaha)
I can't even see the dolphins until the kid pointed it out!
